October Showers

I had the opportunity to take some pictures by request at a shower for some friends who recently adopted. I rented a Canon 17-55 2.8 lens since I don't really have a lens wide enough for such an occasion. This is a lens I'm interested in long-term for my camera. I thought it was very useful and pretty sharp. I thought it missed focus on some occasions...but it was dark and I wasn't using my usual spot focus setting. In the end I didn't use the widest angle that much and I wanted a little more reach...I am using a crop sensor but I still think I might like this one better: Canon 24-105 IS. I have really come to appreciate IS as opposed to a wider aperture...plus it is half the price of the 24-70. Of course, there is always this Tamron option which gets great reviews and is even cheaper: Tamron 28-75. If that lens had Tamron's version of IS it would be perfect for me. I still want a wide angle, and having used both I far prefer this Tokina to the similar Canon wide angle. Of course if I had a bunch of money I would buy this one... Canon 14mm Prime.

Enough about the lenses...here are some of the pics I took.
